Marketing, Social Media & Google – Five For Friday 7 July 2017

Video marketing, evergreen marketing, using social media for conferences and Google’s test my site tool – here are your five for Friday for this week:

In the marketing world we continually hear stats about video marketing, such as:  by 2017 video marketing will account for 69% of all consumer traffic, mobile video ads will grow 5 times faster than desktop and landing pages with videos lead to 800% more conversion.  With this is mind, it’s a good time to review your current marketing plan to ensure video content is included.  This article provides tips on how to use video to produce up to eight different types of content for your business – http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/how-to-repurpose-videos-into-many-forms-of-valuable-content/

This week in the NZ Herald, business columnist Graham McGregor explains the benefits of evergreen marketing (marketing that can be used successfully all the time and often for many years).  He uses the example of a client testimonial with before and after stories – http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=11886684

When attending a conference it’s the people you meet & the networks you develop that provide the real value for attending, but it can be difficult to meet all the people you wish to connect with.  That’s where the value of social media kicks in.  This article shows you how social media can help with meeting new people & strengthening current relationships, while also increasing brand awareness for your business – https://www.agorapulse.com/blog/social-media-stand-out-conference

Google has released a new set of features for its Test My Site tool. With statistics that indicate most sites lose half their visitors while waiting for a page to load, Google has updated the tool to show how many visitors you may be losing due to page speed. Google’s updated Test My Site tool will also show your mobile page speed, how your business compares to competitors, and how to speed up your site – https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-updates-test-site-show-many-visitors-youre-losing/203862/
